ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Call it a case of cookie rage. A Michigan woman has pleaded no contest to belting the cookie lady.
Police say Laura Smith of Belleville attacked the clerk at a mall cookie counter because they didn't have a chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie.
According to authorities, Smith threw a big box of tissue paper wrappers at the woman, hitting her in the face, then punched her.
Smith claims the clerk started the confrontation with insults. Now, Smith faces up to three months in jail and a $500 fine. She will be sentenced in March. http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0129cookiemonster-ON.html

I know it's wrong, but I just can't help laughing while reading that. Man, that's funny. I wonder if I should punch the clerk at the little quick-e-mart here because they no longer stock the particular ice-cream cookie I like?

Reminds me of the movie "Falling Down" when the guy couldn't get a Wham-Breakfast because it was 11:01.

What she needs is sentenced to work this cookie counter while several really nasty individuals make her life pure hell. If she tries to weasel or talk back smack her. Sauce for the goose as the saying goes.

This is why I'm glad I don't work retail anymore. That and the threat of armed robbery on a daily basis.

I worked at a Church's Chicken joint years ago. Late one evening, a customer got serioulsy bent out of shape because he expected a decent chicken sandwich ( I had tried to talk him out of buying one; they were gross). Anyways, he begain screaming at me, which was tolerable, until he started in on my mom.
That did it. I ran from the back of the restaurant, jumped over the counter, and was about 0.5 seconds from pushing his teeth into the back of his throat when the store manager, Kathy, got my attention. All she said, in a quiet calm voice was " He's not worth the jail time." Then she turned to him and said "Leave before I call the cops or let him (me) loose on you."
He never came back.
Fast food sucked.

Dollars to doughnuts that the woman is a Liberal and opposed to CCW. Like the Michigander they interviewed after CCW was passed, and who said, "I'll think twice before I honk at someone in Detroit traffic again."
Translation: I am against CCW, because then I'd have to mind my manners.

Lendringser, I think you give the woman too much credit! I don't believe she's capable of formulating a political stance on issues; she the very basic type: "Can I eat it, or can it eat me?".

Exactly why all cookie clerks should be armed and why open carry should be legal everywhere.

Man, we can't even get cookies with more than 10 chips in California!

I wish that I could have carried in a shoulder harness when I was working back in my retail days. The only problem with that is it probably would have driven away most of my clientele as well as potential thieves. No matter where I shop, I always feel safer in the gun store.
