Getting mixed info from many sites so I'll ask here for some advice.

Using Berry's 115gr plated 9MM with Unique 5.7gr and CCI 500 primers. I find it works well for mainly target practice at ranges of 7 to 10 yards. Alliant says to use 6.3gr but that puts the powder almost at the top of the case. Found a program online called "reloaders reference" that recommends 5.6gr for my reloads. As a newbie I like using Unique because it is fairly forgiving if you are off a grain or two. Any suggestions on Unique powder recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks

The load data on the Alliant site is the MAX recommended charge weight. You are supposed to reduce that number by 10% to get your starting charge. Your charge of 5.7gr Unique is just where the starting charge should be. If that charge weight cycles your slide reliable and the ammo is accurate it sounds like you found your practice load

Also, you said Unique is forgiving if you're a grain or two off. I think you mean a tenth of a grain of two because adding 2 full grains to a 9mm load would not be safe.

@ArchAngelCD - I stand corrected. I meant to say being off a tenth or two. Thanks for the correction.
