I've owned more than my fair share of glocks. I am going to go over a few likes a dislikes with all the of these models.....regardless of the actual caliber or model i.e G19 - or whatever. I have owned all three 19's. I'll start with my least favorite. I'll tell you why as well. My least favorite Glock 19 is the 3rd generation. This is not beacause it is the oldest model, it is because of the grip texture alone. I have shot this firearm through plenty of "run and guns" and enjoy it because it is a glock, but it needs more texture on the side. Now if your primary function for this gun is concealed carry, it may be your favorite. That's a whole different ballgame but needs to be put in perspective. My second favorite is the 4th gen. While I owned on as soon is it came out, I had a few problems with FTE which did not dishearten me from glock. The texture on this model is much different. The recoil spring isn't the only issue though. It is also the extractor claw. If you do a little research you'll see that the 3rd Glocks had some problems as well at first. This gun is a great go between for the 3rd gen and the 3rd gen rtf2. I've owned 3 4th gen Glocks and love them all. Even though I have none now ???
Recently I was able to get my hands on the rtf2 and love the texture. while this firearm was not intended for wearing iwb because it would pick your shirt or pants apart. it functions flawless because it a 3rd gen just with different textures. with gloves or wet cold hands this gun is awesome. some may say it's too much but I don't beleive so. the only thing missing with my 19 rtf2 is it does not have the fish gill slide serations :banghead: all in all it's my number 1. not for ccw but for practicality at the range or our combat course. let me know if anyone wants pictures. also if anyone could tell me if they made a 36 in rtf

If you've ever held a Gen 3+ Glock 19/23 and felt it was just a little to large for concealed carry.

AND

Also believe that a G26/27 is just too stumpy

A Gen 2 G19 is the answer. If you get a chance to carry and shoot one you'll see what I mean.

The rtf2 is also my favorite.I have a G17,g19 and g23.I put a pachmayr tactical grip on the one that i carry. For the range the texture is really nice especially when its hot.

Also agree with jbabbler about the 26 being too stumpy for me.My only complaint about the 3rd gen. G19 is the finger grooves don't fit my hand so the 2nd gen is nice for carry.

forgot to add about the 4th gen besides the texture....the mag release is awesome....probably the best new feature

In my small experience handling the various Glock's my impression is the RTF and Gen 4 have more round corners on the grip than the Gen 3 and previous iterations. Do you find this to be true?

I absolutely can't say enough good things about my Glock 19 w/RTF2. I ran across it by accident while looking to "help" add a just a little more texture to my barely used 26. Needless to say, the 19 came home, the 26 was sold, and the 19 is my new best friend. I would buy a twin in a heartbeat if I could find one, I like it that much! It just happens to be MY cup of tea.

I hope my wife doesn't see this post, she is already jealous of that gun......:D

I have 3 G-19s. A Gen2, a Gen3, and a Gen3.5(RTF). Of the three, the Gen3.5 is by far my favorite. Seems to shoot the best for me, and I love the grip. The "polymids" as GLOCK describes them. Some people don't like them, and I can see why, as they are really aggressive. I have not tried the Gen4 and am very much looking forward to doing so. If it shoots as well and is as trouble-free as the Gens3-3.5, it will be outstanding.

Gt Distributors is selling police trade-in G19 RTF's for $389.99. These are blue label guns with night sights and 3 mags. I bought one a month ago and really like it.
