We in Wisconsin recently had political "revisions" made to the NRA Training Counsellors credential requirements. You can see in this link that there are to be minimums met in training experience, found in the linked app. below.

Recently at the WI NRA convention we had a husband/wife team appointed to be NRA Training Counsellors who fall well below the minimum requirements standards policy, located here:

http://www.nrahq.org/education/training/trainingcounselors/application.pdf

Neither person has even held instruction credentials for more than 9 months, much less held the minimum number of classes or students.

Within politics, some ideals fall between the cracks, and are lost due to compromises that need to be made.

However, when we are talking about firearms instruction/Instructors, safety, and the well-being of our shooting industries' futures let's help the NRA understand that people's actual lives are at stake. Send them an e-mail and ask how your local NRA trainer's requirements may have been compromised and why. Ask them why exceptions are being made for the Training Counsellors who are SUPPOSED to be training the actual Instructors!
