Looking for a 22 mag rifle with iron sights that would be the same size as a cz 223 carbine. Any suggestions? I plan on selling my cz since I have no need for a 223 but really like the shortness of that rifle and get something similar in 22 mag.

While not as sophisticated, the Marlin 982 is close. Weight is 6.0 pounds, length is 41", with a 22" barrel. Yours has a nominal weight of 5.87 pounds, with an 18.5 " barrel, and is 37.4" long.

If you like the cz platform, they have several 452 and 455 models in 22 mag. They also have the cz 512 semi auto in 22 mag, which is a nice gun once you get the trigger parts polished.

A cz would be a good choice but so would a Marlin.

I have always wished that CZ would make the Scout in .22WMR. 16" barrel, good open sights, that would be perfect for me.

I have the 25" Lux in .22 WMR and the Scout in .22lr, great guns.
