Pennsylvania voters take note

These seems to be a continuity of names appearing on anti gun legislation in the state legislature. Dan Frankel of Pittsburgh, is one such, for others, I suggest that those of you with Internet Access, at home or anywhere else have a look at House Bill 1730, the Pennsylvania version of Smart Gun Legislation. Frankel is one of the sponsors, the names of others appear on the bill, which happily seems to be going nowhere.

In any event, all House Members are standing for re-election in November, and some might have PRIMARY ELECTION OPPOSITION, where they could be defeated, effectively removing them from office. The small effort expended in obtaining the names of these legislators might well be effort well spent.

U.S. Senator Arlen Spector appears to have some primary opposition, in the person of U.S. Representative Pat Toomey. It might prove worth while to find out where Toomey stands on issues of concern to you all, I assume that gun control would be one such. Remember, if your will, that Senator Spector voted for, and also bragged about his support for original enactment of the Assault Weapons Ban, scheduled to "sun set" in mid September.

To hear him talk about that, one has to listen with extreme care to hear anything about it, he is now singing a different tune. Re this, one wonders as to the following. Has the Senator changed his position, or has he merely replaced a worn out record, with a newer version? Readers might try to elicit a sentient response from Spector on that point. My best wishes for good luck, if you try.

As I said at the outset, the primaries will be upon us before long.

FWIW, Kim du Toit recently commented on Specter vs Toomey:

P95Carry:

Glad you noticed, hope others do also. Otherwise, I simply call things as I see them.

Long time ago, I lived in London for a while, whilst "visiting" Stone and Webster. It was a very interesting town then, haven't been back there in quite a few years. My lady and I lived in Islington, I think it was, North London, not very far from the woman's prison, which I do not recall
ever seeing.

fortunately, gun legislation has a way of getting shot down in this state.

UNFORTUNATELY, your proposition is not always the case. Look at the rubbish that Tom Ridge pushed through when he was governor, for example, Act 17, as memory serves.

Forwarned is forarmed.

By the way, are the State Police still maintaining their illegal registry of gun sales and gun owners?? I believe that the Allegheny County Sportsmens League against that practice was upheld. Have The Coal And Iron Cops quite their illegal activity??

Commonwealth of PA HB1730 contains the following header:

1 Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for management audits of
3 public utilities.

The document may be viewed here:

Alan - can you clarify?

Yes, they are. PSP has gone on record defending this patently illegal activity. The relevant hearing was broadcast on PCN (PA Cable Network) ~2 years ago. I had a recording of the event. It was, sadly, lost when I recorded over it by accident.

Tall Man and any others who might be confused:

My apologies, I should have checked my notes, or memory BEFORE POSTING. the CORRECT bill number of H.B. 1791, or the following link should work:
