If you're burned out on a 10/22, I don't know how a Marlin Model 60 would be any better for you (unless there is just something about stacking rounds in a tube mag that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, more so than dropping a mag and sticking another one in).

A lever action might be different enough that it would be worth it.

Or if you want something with some better ballistic performance that is a blast to shoot and is still pretty cheap on ammo (and makes a cool "pop" sound), you might look at something in .17 HMR.

Or hell, maybe just a decent bolt gun would be different enough to make you happy... like a Savage.

savage MK II BTVLSS. most accurate bolt 22 I'v ever had. might want to add new games to your shooting. try putting bullet through a life saver hole.
new words will come to mind when you miss. me and a buddy have matching rifles, his is left hand. either one of us can shot the others rifle with same hit total. use Federal bulk bullets, from wally world try asprin and life saver shooting at 25 & 50yrs. plenty of fun and pressure, when buddy is shooting with you.

If you do not have a pistol now would be a good time for a browning or ruger, or anything that suits your fancy. But as stated above if the 10/22 are ho hum for you the marling won't be different. Chose the lever action.

Its hard to beat the 10/22 for plinking, but if you are just looking for something different:

Savage Mk II F, FV or FSS. Synthetic stock bolt action. Great rep for accuracy.
Henry Lever Action Youth Lots of fun to be plinking with a lever action.
Ruger Mk III Pistol. Switching from a rifle to a pistol may give you the variety you need.
Customize your 10/22. My last suggestion would be to just take the $300 and customize your existing rifle. The aftermarket for the 10/22 is unbelievable. You can turn it into a "tactical" gun, a "sniper" gun, a "race" gun or just about anything you want.
