So while at a lgs today I was picking up a beautiful 92 (thread to come) while waiting on the paperwork I had them add a this 20 ga sxs that says it was made in Yugoslavia under the name Zavodi crvena zastava. It seems to be a cheap century import. The gun shoulders amazingly and was a steal at 150$. So does anyone else have one of these laying around and are they junk or just a bargain.

I have 2 in 16ga and love them. I use them on the wobble trap range, bird, squirrel and rabbit hunting.

neat I'd never heard of one before but didn't have a double in 20 so figured it was worth a shot

THAT is a really nice gun! It looks lithe and trim and very responsive looking. Congrats!

Hello Guys,

This is really not really a post or thread for me ( I am a handgun guy), but thought I might comment if you do not mind...

Zastava is the state arms manufacture for Serbia, Many years of firearm manufacturing history. High quality (very sturdy reciever, non chrome lined barrel) Ak-47 type. Superb pistol (importded as EZ-9) Serb military and contract with Iraqi army. EZ-9 also has U.S. LEO with different departments in the States.

IMHO, Zastava should be fine.

I just purchased, refinished, and reblued one in 16 gauge. Its a great gun so far, I seem to shoot it better than most doubles. I paid $230 but the gun I have started in slightly better condition. However, you got a deal.

okigunner I believe these where made by a different company though not 100% on that. I'm thinking more along the lines of dave.

hb agreed for the price a bit of character is a good thing. I think it looks more antiqued because of it.

Right.

It was the Red Flag (crvena) armory in Zastava in the Bad Old Days.

Now they do business as Zastava oružje AD. That translates to "Zastava Arms". AD is a corporate designator.

I love translations.

"Yugoslavia’s Zavodi Crvena Zastava factory (Red Banner Works)"

I found this reference in the section titled 'A Brief history of the Mauser K98k and M48', about halfway down the page,

www.thecountryshed.com/gun_guides.htm

I used google translate set on Serbian to English and got Divisions Red Flag.
