Troubles with MidwayUSA website?

I noticed yesterday and again this morning. The front page of the website is missing the "gun parts and gunsmithing" option. :banghead:

I called Midway and the woman said they were not aware of any problems.

Did my wife figure out how to stop me from spending money???:rolleyes:

Anybody else have the same problem?

When I pull it up, it's right there on the left side between "Gifts, toys & hobbies" and "hunting".

Not mine. Mine goes "gifts toys hobbies", skips "gun parts and gunsmithing" and goes to "hunting".

You are not crazy I have observed the same thing since they redesigned the website - sometimes it is nowhere to be found and other times right where it should be. I liked the website the way it was last year at this time.
I asked my friend, Bill Gribble, about it and he said it is part of an Obama administration plot to those of us whom work on guns think we are crazy.

try reloading the page. or do a google search for "midway gun parts".

Glad I bought my magazines before the site started acting up. Hopefully I'll have a package waiting when I get home.

They were having problems last week after a system overhaul or update or something. My order said it no shipping available to my location so I had to phone them.

I hope they're not making "improvements" to their site. It seems, everytime they "improve" their site it becomes more difficult to use. I think I've seen all the "improvements" that I need to see.

I can't stand the re-design!

I use to be able to shop for component bullets by weight and caliber. Now I cant find a way to do that, I have to sort thru all calibers trying to find a specific bullet.

When you enter from a PPC ad (sponsor link on top or to the right) Google mandates in their ad guidelines that Gun parts, ammunition and a slew of other products be removed from the site for that visitors session. If you click the ad and then leave, you will have to wait 20 minutes before entering the site again. This is a cookie thing.

If you type in into your address bar you will be taken to the full site with gunsmithing and gun parts.

Midway was slapped on the wrist before by Google and so now they are being cautious. Other advertisers, Cabelas, are not forced nor are they following these rules. If you enter their site through a paid ad (top or right) you will notice that on the first page you land on, all of the gun related products and ammunition links are removed. After your next click you will be taken to a full site. Google's guidelines state that the "SITE" can not market these products through PPC. Here is the link to their guidelines (

So the short answer, Site isn't broker and your wives aren't preventing you from buying. Google is the reason.

Speaking of the Midway website redesign...Does anyone like that new recently viewed bar they've placed at the bottom of the page? I find it gets in my way and shortens my view of products. I guess their web page design doesn't allow it to be posted vertically on the right or left like everyone else's website.

So anyway, I sent this complaint email to Midway and they wrote back that everyone just loves the recently viewed bar. I kind of found that hard to believe since everyone would have also included me. Anyone else dislike that new recently viewed bar at the bottom of their webpages?

When a vendor, that I use, redesigns their website I try to allow some time to get used to it. I have tried this with Midway's redesign. So far I just can not get used to it. It seems far more difficult to locate an item than before. Also, the screen seems to be squeezed by all the extra junk along the edges.

As post #16 stated "they wrote back that everyone just loves the recently viewed bar". I suspect that the "everyone" who loves it are the people who designed it.

The more Midway "fixes" the website, the worse it gets. That said, I like Midway, and continue to use them. Their site just bites.
