I just got some Meprolights and they say to use glue?
Anyone do this, and is this needed?
Thanks!

It's common to use red loc-tite to help secure fixed sights after all adjustments have been made.
Not sure what Mepro is telling you to 'glue' though.
There's also a 'black' loc-tite that is used for glueing sight ribs on shotguns.
Is this the front sight on a Beretta 92 your doing? I recall reading they suggest that front night sight be pinned and 'glued'.

That was the only way I could secure my pre-agreement Smith & Wesson model 41's rear sight to the rib. It's still holding four or five years later.

My habit for staking a standard front sight into a 1911 slide is to cut a
shallow groove on each side of the tenon and dip it in a little JB Weld
before it goes in. Use a small round burr or stone in a Dremel to cut
a well into the underside of the slide to let the tenon spread out when
it's staked. Haven't lost a front sight in years.
Cheers!

I just found Loctite Quick Set Epoxy (sets in 5 min) that has a red and white bottle. Is this the right kind?
