I think that is the spelling?

I am lucky enough to have 2 family members on leave from deployment. 2nd dploy for one and the third for the other. One says they only put them on commercial explosives and the other says no they are in firearms propelents and in explosives. They argued till my beer and steaks were gone. Other things were argued about especially women from different cultures.

I was very glad to feed and water these kids. Well they are kids to me as I'm ones' godfather so anyone under 25 is a kid to me. They did agree the good point about 5.56 is that it is free.

I said I would look into the tagant thing. Does anyone know one way or the other? I would like a more reliable source than wiki or CSI. I'm going to pass it on to them later. This kinda got started by talking about how some women should, well never mind how it started.

No taggants in gunpowders made for reloading nor in commercial ammunition. The NRA and millions of gun owners beat back an attempt by anti-gunners to add taggants to gunpowder. Biggest concern of handloaders was what effect it would have on their reloaded ammunition probably making it unsafe. The entire shooting industry was against this proposal. I don't have a link for the proof you're interested in to solve the debate. It would have been a disaster leading to impossible record keeping trying to track tagged ammunition and like mentioned who knows what it would have done to the safety of powder with contaminates in it for handloaders.

Great link!

We did not follow the taggant thing at the tme because we were all busy. One of my buddies said he was pretty sure and almost positive they used them in our C-4. But to me it seems if we were doing covert stuff "over there" we would not want to leave a calling card as it were. I'm passing this link on to them but they are still here they are to busy drinking or chasing females to check email right now.

I remember at the time (decades ago) it seemed like a company was just out to make a buck with a laser that could print tiny numbers. I can see now how it might throw off precision shooters some.
