I recently purchased a 15-3 to round out my S&W collection. The seller reported it to be 99%. When it arrived I agreed. Did not appear to be fired much at all. Not much in the way of a turn line. Grips not numbered to the gun. No box, etc. I put 200 rounds through it after changing out the grips.

Very nice. I'm new to the model 15 myself having recently picked up a 15-6. The new wood looks great. It's always a good feeling of relief to be pleasantly surprised by a no contact purchase, congratulations and enjoy.

Very nice.

I have a 1971 15-3. Not nearly 99%, though. Shoots like a dream...

Sweet looking Model 15 you've got there! I think the Combat Masterpiece is the all-time design classic K frame. Hope it shoots as great as it looks.

Very nice Model 15-3. I've got one that was an old cop gun and I assure you it does not look that nice. Still shoots great though.

I've also got a 38 Combat Masterpiece from 1953. I know I've shot it a few times, but I need to get it back to the range.

A Tyler's T grip is a nice addition in you want to keep the standard grips on it.

Anyone know if the model 15 came in a "heavy barrel" version? My 15-6 was said to be a "heavy barrel" or "bull barrel". I can't really tell from the pictures of this model 15-3 if the barrel is any different than mine.

My 15-4 is one of my most favorite handguns I own. I found it (luckily) at my local shop, in the original box, all manuals, papers, tools, etc. Looked to me like it had not been fired (was not labeled as NIB, just looked like it was). Really in perfect condition. I paid $225 for it (about 10 years ago) and I could not be happier. It has the factory target trigger and hammer installed and is the most accurate handgun I own.
