I was told that a pre ban glock would always be legal with a high capacity mag. I was also told the ban would make it illegal for a gun made after the ban to contain a high capacity pre ban mag.
Was I told wrong????????

Under federal law, you can use pre-ban normal capacity magazines (aka high capacity magazines) in ANY firearm they function in regardless of the date of manufacture of the handgun and/or semi-auto rifle. The magazine capacity does not effect the classification of the firearm. In fact, you can even alter a pre-ban magazine to fit a different firearm with the restriction that it must also still function in the firearm it was designed for.

However, some states may regulate them. Need to be sure of your local laws.

I bought the gun in NY back in 94. I am now in KY and discussing this with other members in the autoloader forum. Possibly, in NY, the law is such that no gun made after the ban can have a high cap mag. This ofcourse excludes law enforcement. Thanks

Remember not to buy into the anti's perverted language. It's not "High Capacity," it's "Normal" or "Full" capacity.
