300BLK vs 338 Spectre

Looking to get your guys (and gals) opinion on the 2 cartridges. I looked at 458 SOCOM but I want more than 10 rounds. I found little conversion is necessary for 300 BLK. I did find that 338 will work on 5.56 stripper clips ( i have quite a few). I am looking for a caliber with a little more stopping power than 5.56. Also I already have a 'Nam s AR in 5.56. Looking for a nice HD rifle.I currently have a stripped lower awaiting its upper. I appreciate your input.

.300BLK is probably the way to go. It's been getting really popular lately, so ammo and brass costs will be going down, plus there are tons of bullets available for anything .30 caliber. You can use the same magazines and bolt as .223/5.56, just a different barrel. And if you ever decide to SBR or put a can on it, you won't lose much at all in terms of ballistics or power and it'll be REALLY quiet.

I am looking for a caliber with a little more stopping power than 5.56.
If you plan on SBR'ing and/or suppressing, the .338 has more power, but the .300 is more common (and increasingly so). I have looked at both but think I will just stick with the 6.8 for now.

Just ordered a 338 Spectre barrel today. Maybe I will start a 300 BLK upper after I finish the 338. Cant wait to get started on this.

Any ideas on what parts you're gonna use?

Yhm wraith xl flash hider for qd wraith xl suppressor, cut barrel down to 9, dd omega 12.0 fsb rail, young chrome bc, aimpoint ( not sure model yet) larue quick detach, dd a1.5 rear sight, geiselle 3 gun flat bow single stage trigger, kns anti rotate trigger system, vltor imod.
