Does anyone here know who makes Cabela's Riflescopes? They look like quality for a fair price but i would lkie them better if I had a name to put to them. Please don't recommend any scopes. I'm just curious as to who makes the Cabela's scopes.

Thanks...

They are probably made by several different companies. I believe Leopold has made some of them with a Cabela's script.

I would think if you would call Cabelas and ask their tech department they should tell you, if they won't I wouldn't buy one.

Apparently, the Euro scopes are rebadged Meoptas. Other models are made by the same Asian companies that make scopes for Bushnell, Nikon, Weaver, Vortex, Sightron, etc.

Thank you, if that information is accurate that's good news. Do you have a source?

I have no specific source. Just what I was able to find out, figure out, guess, a year or so ago. As far as the Euros, they sure look like Meoptas, on paper and in person. As far as the others, it seems obvious that LOW, Kenko, and whoever in China have all made scopes for Cabela's.

There are only 5-10 major companies that make laptops. Compal, quanta, asus, etc. you've probably not heard of any of them. Dell, apple, sony, hp etc, send a spec sheet to the makers, get bids back, and then have the winner make that particular model of laptop. The same company might put out dell's top of the line computer full of the best components, and the cheapest gateway full of last years parts and 2nds.

I'm sure that the same holds true for scopes. The same factory in the phillipines or china probably puts out scopes for burris, vortex, tasco and simmons and cabelas. So even if you were able to track down the particular factory that a specific model of scope comes from, and then able to tell what other name brand scopes they put out, you still wouldn't have learned that much about your scope. Different specs, different levels of quality. And whoever made, for example, the vortex crossfire last year might not have the contract for the crossfire this year. Best you can do is look through a scope in person, check out the warranty of the brand selling it, and make a decision.

(ps: lcd panels for tv's, blank dvd's, etc are the same way)

My neighbor sold me a much coveted Marlin 336 in .35 Remington last Summer that he had topped with a 3X9 Pine Ridge Scope. (Cabellas).
The optics are clear, the adjustments seem to be accurate and positive and the rifle holds ZERO without fail.
Sometimes in a cheaper variable glass the point of impact will change after power change settings.
Not so with this scope.
Can't ask for much more.
Needless to say the scope is staying on the .35!

I have had the Pine Ridge 3x9 on my Marlin 336 for a number of years now and I am very happy with it. It even cleans up well after being covered in deer blood from a long long drag through the swamp.
