Short story...I got a Galco SIL-126 (unlined leather) for my SW 629 PC and it's hard to draw because it sticks in the holster. Maybe because the cylinder is unfluted and the holster "is". What household 'stuff' can I use to make my new holster a little slicker? I tried the search and was VERY surprised to not find anything on this subject-thought I'd find a whole list of stuff. I also tried the "baggy trick" which did nothing. Thanks.

What kind of belt do you use? It could be the belt and not the holster.

Get a can of Silicone spray and spray the inside of your holster lightly and allow to dry. Try drawing handgun again, if still sticky give the holster another light spray. Silicone spray has alsways worked for me.

RC does what I do with all my new Galco holsters. Blue masking tape (also known as painters tape) won't leave an adhesive residue on your firearm. I usually put on 3 layers on my slide and leave it in the holster for 2 to 5 days depending on the thickness of the holster. Afterwards, I get a good leather conditioner and apply a thin application inside then allow to dry, I then draw around 30 to 50 times. This usually breaks them in perfectly and leaves plenty of retention while still allowing easy draw.

AHA! I didn't include the term slick. I was using stuck and sticking in my search. Thx for the link.

Some times you can slick up a new holster only to find it gets loose once it breaks in. I would work on break in first.

Here is what I tell all my customers. Place one wrap of wax paper around your firearm with the wax side out, place in your holster and leave it overnight. Then do 15 -20 draws from it, If it is still to tight for you repeat the steps above but use two layers of wax paper. Then three layers if needed. This has always worked for me so far.
