I have looked on the internet but can't find a decent description on how to remove sights from a ruger 10/22 barrel

I have an unmounted barrel with some williams fire sights on it and am trying to figure out how to remove the sights, but I will be putting them on later after I get done sanding

Thanks

edit: hmm i got the front sight off it just slipped right off

is it the same concept with the back once you remove the front screw on the fire sight?

Drift them out from right to left with a brass bunch. Use a stable bench block.

put a spent case on the end of your punch.

You can make a brass punch out of a brass screw, if there's a hardware store around.

I always do the "righty-tighty, lefty loosey" approach to installing/removing sights. Wonder if it really matters.

Left to right.

Was it difficult right to left?

Nope, Ill make a thread showing why I wanted the sights off.
I am loving how this is turning out.
