An unissued CZ-52 found it's way home with me in my range bag today!! :D
I had the gunshop guy field strip it for me before I took possession.
It's still in the cosmoline!!! :what:
It has a date of 1954 on it. This gun is older than I am!!!

1. Take the grips off and field strip.
2. Blast it out really good with brake cleaner.
3. Then spray it out with CLP to put some protection back into the hard to reach spots.
4. Blow the excess with compressed air and wipe off.
5. Then lube as you like.
6. Go to the range and enjoy shooting the heck out of it.
FUN gun!
:D

Now, what about carrying the beast.
1500fps sounds like a good defensive cartridge!!!
Any concealment holsters out there??
What about hollowpoint ammo???
I understand it's a single action pistol. :what:

denfoote,
You're gonna love this gun. I bought two with my C&R, and they definately get peoples attention on the firing line. They are loud, and the muzzle flash could roast hot dogs. I would be careful carrying it though. That 7.62x25 round is VERY powerful. If you ever needed it in a crisis situation, and you cranked off a round at a perp, the round would go through the perp and take anyone in it's path out as well. They are not recommended for home protection for this reason. They have the capability to penetrate multiple layered walls.
As far as ammo goes, I use Sellier & Bellot in mine. there are people selling military surplus stuff, but I've heard some shooters say they had problems with it. I buy my ammo from Natchez shooting supplies in Tenn. It's new production ammo, and I personally find it to be excellent. I haven't heard of any hollow point ammo for this weapon. all I have seen is the standard stuff. I have heard of some people who hand load the ammo, but again, I haven't seen any.
Also, when you field strip it, be careful when you release the barrel from the slide. These are a little tricky. They have a habit of launching across the room if not done properly. You can go to the CZ forum.com for help. They deal strictly with the CZ 52. and are very helpful. ENJOY
good luck, and be safe.

Great fun gun ... and I love mine .... S&B ammo is great for it .... hoping to start handloading soon when brass count gets higher.
Many suggest this and I did it .... get a 16.5# spring for it ... and maybe keep an after market machined firing pin spare... the cast can bust with dry firing - best not to.
http://www.makarov.com/ can supply most what you might want.
Not IMO the ideal carry piece ... for several reasons. Just enjoy.:)

Even though i have 3 already, its sure tempting to get one from CDNN unissued. Two of mine are real nice and even the third isnt bad.I love guns with history attached to them.Make sure you do the pencil-decocker test.
