Issues with a Sig P229 SRT I just installed

I put a Sig factorty parts short reset trigger kit into my P229, it is essentially a replacement sear and firing pin block lifter. I took her out today to test and in the first 50 rounds I had a few rounds that wouldn't fire, some would after a 2nd trigger pull, some still wouldn't fire. Inspection of the unfired round showed no strike at all on the primer. Putting that round back into the mag and cycling the slide would then allow it to fire. Had about 1 every 5 rounds in the first box of 50. After that box was empty I moved on to another box and had maybe 1 issue...both boxes were my hand loads. My issue seems to me a lot like the firing pin lifter not engaging every time on the trigger reset. Perhaps after re-assembly something wasn't seated quite right and by the end of the first box it had settled?
I'm going to keep an eye on it. Anybody had similar issues with the sig SRT kit?

Nobody else experiencing this? I took it to the range today and it seems like every 5th shot was a dud. Sometimes several trigger pulls later the rounds would go off. I started putting all of the duds into a pile, then I loaded mag of duds and they all shot (though some required a few trigger pulls). Of the ones that did not initially fire, there was NO dent on the primer. I'm using these same primers on my other reloads with no problems (a few thousand with out a primer related issue). I really feel like the SRT kit is not always lifting the firing pin block. Is there anything I can check?

My action plan is to put the factory sear and fpb lifter back and see if the problem goes away. That would say for sure if that's want the problem is.

Have you fired the gun before installing the SRT?
If not, test firing with original fire control group would be the logical plan of action.
Good luck, the SRT kit in my P229 is impressive. I plan on installing one in an older P220.

I was going to replace mine in my P220, but I have heard people with reset problems and FTF issues. On the other hand, a friend installed an SRT in his P226 and loves it.

I fired a few hundred rounds without issue prior to installing the SRT. I put the original stuff back in and will test it out next times hit the range.

I haven't read of any complaint son other forums, except for reset problems... it appears that later P220 pistols will also need a new reset lever. The current kit has the lever included.

Yeah, I seen it in the kit. I carry the P220 everyday. I am trying to justify buying the trigger kit. I dont hate the stock P220 trigger. I guess I need some trigger time on my buddy's P226 to sway my decision.

I got the SRT kit from Midway - 2 little pieces for $50 as I recall - and installed it on my P229. I found it to work great - I just thought it was a little overpriced but what "gun-related" stuff isn't these days? That's why I did it myself - I didn't want to pay someone $100 more (I made that price up) to install it so I guess in the long run it wasn't so bad. :)
