Tulsa Gun Show

I am curious what others thought of this year's Tulsa show. As always, I had a great time and was completely exhausted by the time I got to the end. It was the biggest crowd I have ever seen...wow! I didn't find what I wanted, an Anschutz .22 Hornet, but my buddy found a really nice vintage 3-screw Ruger Single Six and another friend found a really nice Remington 870 Wingmaster for his grandson. Another friend sold several high dollar older Colt .45s. I saw lots of guns and money change hands. Yet another friend sold a Python and a Browning Highpower. He got his asking price for both. It excites me to see folks so eager to have good guns. Heard lots of talk, fear really, of possible future restrictive gun laws. And a few husbands who brought a wife and couple of kids and the wife looks bored and the kids are whining. Here's a clue guys...leave the family at home and everyone will be happy. Mostly it was a grand time. I'll be back in November.

tulsa is a good time but a uninterested woman and kids really detract from it.

The show was the busiest i have ever seen. But some of the dealers that have been going for years didn't show up this time.Especially a couple of glock armorers.Always enjoy the wanenmecher.

Had a great time as well. This was definitely the biggest crowd I've seen. I heard some dealers remark about an ATF presence, making sure things were by the book. I didn't really notice.

Pricing was as expected, but i did manage to get WC 844 for $50/8 lbs!!

Ready for the next show in April!

Your comment about the ATF reminded me of this.
A local gun shop staffer attended the large Tulsa show, maybe within the last two years.

When I asked him about many peoples' uncertainty about whether to drive to gun shows in other states to buy something, and simply put it in the car, the guy told me that he chatted with an ATF guy at the large Tulsa show.

The ATF guy told the shop guy that the ATF was much more concerned about thieves stealing AR components than anything else.

I picked up a hell of a deal on a Browning a-5 16 sweet sixteen. For the first time in a long time people seemed to be willing to deal. Also had more individual offers than I remember in years past.

Thats odd, considering they can buy every component of an AR via mail order with the exception of the lower. ATF doesn't have any regulatory authority over AR components.

From a vendor's perspective this was the best show in a couple years. The last few shows had been a bit lackluster on attendance and I didn't see many guns changing hands. Not so for this show. All the dealers in my immediate area were pleased with their sales and smiles were all around at the end of the show.

I've always had a hell of a good time at tulsa gun show. Granted I need a nap afterwards but I'd do it every weekend if they had one.
