Has anyone built an AR15 with wood hardware? Just thinking it might give it a classy look. Any pics?

I've seen Appleseed pics of a girl holding a wood stocked ar. It looked wrong to me but in just the right way

Near the bottom on the left.

Some of the wood is gorgeous. Looks odd on an AR, but cool at the same time.

The Brownell's AR parts catalog from last year has a rifle done up in wood furniture.

Um, I would never do it, but for those guys who want to try an AR but just absolutely cannot stand plastic on their guns....whatever man.

If you think about it, the original AR-10 had wood furniture.. It's pretty much a throwback.

Some people would say that an Ar in plastic furniture is fugly. Does it really matter?

Beautiful wood on that thing, but to me - IMHO - wood on an AR don't look right. On the other hand, black stocks on an AK don't look right to me either.

I guess I'm just getting older an more set in my ways. Gotta go chase those damn kids off my lawn now... :neener:

I like how wood stocks look on the AR, for what its worth my first AR has a set on it:

(Im saving the wood forend the stock set came with for a more... traditional upper)

Too bad The day I took it out to the range for the first time, it wouldnt cycle :o Looks nice though, Id like to think, and will look better once I put some wear on it.

Looks a little "off" to me, but to each their own. If you like it, go for it.

M16's were issued in plastic.

Putting them in wood isn't 'correct'

I like that burl wood remodel. Great for a range gun. No to a field gun that is going to get scratched.

To me, if you just made the buttstock wood, you'd have a hybrid like a lot of the FALs were...with that wood buttstock and all the rest of the furniture plastic. That might wook as a look and it's been done.
