PM-9 poll... has anyone had any problems with them?

I'm still kickin' around the Kahrs... decided I wanted an MK9 or an MK40. Now thinking the 9 with +P will be effective enough and have an extra round. Latest thinking, I wonder if the new PM9 has proven to be a reliable design yet.... ??? I'd love to hear any feedback on the PM9. Thanks ya'll.

My PM9 was perfectly reliable though the first 500 rounds. In the last 75 rounds I've had two FTF and one FTE using Gold Dots and Golden Sabers.
I'm not sure what I should do yet, I guess it should go back to Kahr.

NJ3 - I wonder if you'd mind expounding on those FTF's a bit?
I had 2 polymer Kahr's (P9 and P40) that experienced what Kahr calls "premature striker disengagement". When the trigger was pulled, there was an earlier than expected "click", with no resulting bang. Sometimes I could pull the trigger multiple times until it fired, which of course, is not supposed to happen with the kahr...
I was told by someone at Kahr that this only happened with the Polymer Kahrs, that they had redesigned the striker cam so that it wouldn't happen any more, and that no PM models would ever suffer from this issue since they had the new cam from the beginning...
FWIW, I've owned 5 steel Kahrs, and not a stitch of trouble between them. I've had 2 polymer Kahrs, and not a good one between them.

I own one of the very 1st PM9’s. Mine is in the mid 100’s with its serial number.
It eats everything I feed it… as long as I don’t load it with 6 + 1. It does get a little picky loaded like that with some HP ammo, but several other HP’s work great. If I load it to 5 + 1 it will eat those very same problem HP’s with no flack. I must say though that most of the problem type HP’s were +p+ rated & not something I’d really choose for the little guy for “carry”…
Dave at Kahr said he’d send me a new barrel if I wanted… but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. What CS from Kahr though!
I have well over 1,000 rounds (give me a break, it’s cold up here right now:)) through my PM9 now. After I found the HP ammo we both liked it has been 100% reliable.
I currently “carry” it with Federal’s newer 124-grain +p EFMJ ammo.
My Kahr K9 has been 100% since day 1, by the way. It don’t care about anything but shooting!

I have shot a few hundred rounds through my PM9, FMJ and hollow points. No problems at all so far. Watch-Six

Had problems initially with mine initially in the first 100 rounds (ftf with Olympic and Win Silvertips), but they cleared up after that. Never a fte or a jam. Just FTF.
Mines between 100-200 S/N.

I shot mine side by side along with an MK9. The MK9 felt slightly better and shot slightly better, but not by a lot.
The only problem is the round coming out of the magazine getting caught at the bottom of the feed ramp only while chambering the first round. This was improved with some very slight and careful polishing of the feed ramp. The problem still exists, but it's almost gone. I predict that it'll be completely gone with another 2 or 3 boxes of ammo. Kahr recommends at least a 200 round break in anyway.
I would highly recommend the PM9 to anyone.

I don't know if I've experienced what would be called "premature striker disengagement". But if I don't release the trigger completely I'll get a "click" and no "bang". Then if I fully release the trigger afterwards, the gun will fire. I just chalk that up to user error.
The problem that my PM9 has developed is the HP getting hung up on the feed ramp while shooting. I have to pop the back of the slide with my off hand then the round will chamber. I polished the feed ramp and still get the same results.
The first 500 rds were great and I really enjoy shooting the little Kahr. Right now I have it loaded with Federal EFMJ as they still feed well.

For great power and great feeding reliability you might wish to try CorBon PowRBall... very effective defense ammo and a round nose for good feeding in finnicky guns.

The CorBon's look cool...but I don't see a 9mm version.

Mikel.... DANG, I thought they did produce a 9mm version. Sorry for the false lead. David DiFabio (of ammo lab fame) is very familiar with the PowRBall ammo and rates them above all else in defense loads. I don't think you can go wrong with any CorBon load for defense. I do know that production for PowRBall is limited and that CorBon is producing the rounds in limited calibers as they develop the ideal loads for each caliber, one at a time. I have them in .40 for my Browning Hi-Powers (awesome guns, awesome ammo) and they are a perfect feeding and hot load. Although my Hi-Powers will flawlessly feed and fire anything I put in them. I've ordered PowRBall from CorBon directly in .45 ACP, but haven't received my .45 order yet. This ammo seems to be fairly limited availability, but worth the extra effort required to obtain it. Hopefully CorBon will have their 9mm version available.

Mine only has around 250 rounds through it, so it's barely broke in.
(Hey, it's been pretty cold here in the south too!)
It's a lot of fun to shoot, so I'm itching to get back to the range.
No problems or failures of any kind so far.
Federal HydraShok, Win. fmj, and jhp, and a few Gold Dot +p rounds.

No problem, I was just a little confused for a sec there. I'm sure they'll make a 9mm soon enough, it's a pretty popular caliber. I'm still waiting on my PM9 anyway, seems demand is higher than supply. :)

I have a huge problem with my PM9. I keep forgetting that it's in my pocket! :D
