I have been wanting to get a Kimber compact in Stainless for a while now for my carry firearm. I intend to put nightsights on it which are not factory doable according to my local guy. he said he could do an aftermarket job no problem which would bring the gran total up to about $850 not counting tax. H actually has a CDP sitting in the case for $950.
I have always liked the look of the CDP and it has nightsights with it. I am pretty ambiguous on the carry melt treatment, and I don't think the ambi saftey would be a plus for me. I have also found that I like to get rubber wrap w/finger grroves on my carry guns thus making any checkering really a non-issue. Is there anything else that the CDP would offer to justify the extra note? Is the trigger any better than a standard custom? Is the acton any smoother?
