I'm looking to buy a Glock for concealed carry and was wondering which one I should get. I'm looking into the G19 and the G26, here's a G26 I'm interested in.
Glock 26 (http://www.armslist.com/posts/364133/cleveland-ohio-handguns-for-sale--glock-26-gen-3---with-galco-formed-leather-holster?utm_source=c000019&utm_medium=plink&utm_campaign=p012055)
Opinions?

How are you wanting to carry it? IWB? OWB? Appendix? Behind the hip?

Also, have you ever fired these guns to see which one you like better? I'm guessing you haven't since you are asking our opinions, but that is a good place to start.

I like my Glock 19 as it is hardly bigger than a 26 and I can still get a full grip on it. If I was going to go smaller it would be to a single-stack 9mm like a Kahr so that I can get a slimmer profile.

I want the largest capacity but at the same time still be easy to carry. The G19 just seems big to me for everyday carry...

When it comes to carry, the G19 really is not that much bigger than the G26. You are going to feel the width more than the length of the grip, and they both have the same 1.2" width.

I have a Comp Tac Minotaur holster for IWB carry of a G19 and its perfect. I started out with the G26 but felt it a little small after a few months, plus the bump on the back of the 26 kinda didn't fit my hand. The 19 fit a lot better in my hand and I can't feel any difference when carrying the 19. I give the 19 my vote because it can do everything and more that the 26 can. A good holster will make all the difference.

One other note. If you put a 26 with a grip extension on it, its pretty much as long as a G19 without the extra rounds and the barrel length does not matter because that is sticking down in your pants anyway. But you get a longer sight radius with the G19 which helped me out with speed shooting.

Although I'm not a Glock fan I'll take a stab. From reading multiple posts here and other forums it appears some people shoot the 26/27 better than they shoot the 19/23. I've never had the opportunity to shoot the 26 but I shoot the 27 better than I shoot the 19. I carry something about the same size (but heavier) than the G19 so I am of the opinion that you can adequately conceal either model. Given that, IF (and that's a big IF) I drank a gallon of the Koolaid and bought a Gllll, Gllllll, sorry can't get the word out while thinking that way, I would carry the one I shoot better. Go to a rental range, they ALLLLL rent Glocks, and try them both out. It will be money well spent.

G26 with pierce grip extender

This makes the grip the same length as the G19, but with 5 rounds less capacity.

As Gathert said, a good holster will make the 19 just as easy to carry as the 26 for most people, and the Supertuck is a good holster.

It seems like the G19 is the way to go. Is this a good price for a G19?

That is a fair price but are you restricted to 10 round mags?

If you aren't restricted to 10 round mags I would get one elsewhere.

I also wouldn't personally want to carry a Glock that has had the factory trigger lightened by 1 lb for a CCW weapon.

That's a good point. I do have my CCW, and I'm in Ohio, so not restricted to 10 rounds. But I'll look for one around that price point.

This is just MY opinion, so take it for what it's worth, but.... you can make a 26 bigger, but you can't make a 19 smaller. You can get grip sleeves and use 19/17 mags in the 26, as well as a longer barrel if you wanted more velocity, but you can't make the 19 smaller. Nothing compares to a 26/27/33, as far as Glocks go, for CCW.

I know the 19/23/32/36/30 are pretty concealable for MOST people, but if you're like me, and have any issues with the grip poking out no matter where you have it, you'll like the 26/27/33 most.

The G26 is smaller than the 19. It's not that great a difference, but it's enough to make it slightly easier to conceal.

The G19 is my carry, night stand, pickup gun and I've never had any problem concealing it. You will find most people never even notice. The g26 is just small for my hands. If I need a smaller gun I just carry my LCP.

Of those two I would pick the G19. I like the G26 with the grip extension but, with it, it's not much smaller than the 19 in my opinion.

It depends on how you're carrying it, your body type and what you tend to wear when trying to conceal. The G26 is a smaller weapon, obviously it's easier to conceal, but it you're a long, loose shirt guy, it doesn't matter much. If your style of dress is less forgiving, look at the 26.

This is really kind of a no-lose, both are fine weapons. Strictly speaking though, the G26 gives you more carry flexibility, and since that's your stated purpose...

If you can shoot the 26 well then by all means go with it. I've carried a 19 for work for years and love it. It is easily concealable and I can shoot it well. Even with 15 round mags it carries well. But if concealability is your goal go with the gun that's smallest that you can shoot well.

I settled on the 19 & comptac minautor too. Great combo.

I have both. In a belt holster, either IWB or OWB, the size difference is noticeable but not huge. But if you think you ever might want to pocket carry, the G26 is the way. I haven't pocket-carried my G26 in regular pants, but I have carried it in a coat pocket and in cargo shorts. It wouldn't be possible with my G19.

The smaller one. I have both. The Glock 26 carries much smaller on my body type and carry method. COMPARISON (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-_3qzu8NWtRg/TaiQdkwg-VI/AAAAAAAAEkI/kjIW97UPJBQ/s800/GlocksComparedPercentages.jpg). It adds up for me over the course of the day.

pick the one you can shoot the best. G19 conceals great, plus if needed it will take G17 mags.

+ 1 for whichever you can shoot better, but I carry a G19 IWB w/ a supertuck and its easy to conceal and pretty comfortable. Id say for a used G19, a decent price would be about $425-450. I got mine used for $425, but i dont think you'll find one for less

I have never shot the 26 but I will say I shoot better with the 19 than the 17. I guess it fits my hand better but I never liked the feel of the sub compacts, way to small for me.
The 19 is not hard to carry or conceal.

I have owned and carried both and my opinion is that the Glock 26 doesn't conceal much better then a Glock 19 and the Glock 19 is much more "shootable".

Bought a G26 MARCH of 2011 took delivery in SEPTEMBER 2011!. Bought it through the Military/LE program. Today, April 11,2012, sent it back to the factory to replace defective ejector system. Selling it as soon as I get it back. Will replace it with a Kahr K9 or P9.

Bought the larger 23 (same size as the 19)for myself origanally.....wife wanted a Glock too...she liked the smaller 27 (same size as the 26)...long story short...she ended up not liking the subcompact
27...couldn't hit well with it...we traded.

I shoot the compact a tad better, but I'm really starting to like this subcompact 27. It us more conceilable and I can almost shoot it as well as the larger 23.

I carry a G19 in a Crossbreed QuikClip with no problems concealing, and I am a small guy. I have a Supertuck that I use with a SR9c, too. The holster makes all the difference in the world when concealing. Get the gun that feels/shoots best to you.

I ended up selling my g23 after I got my g27. In fact, the g27 probably my favorite gun. I never really tried carrying the other one, but i recently had a revelation where i decided to only own a couple sub compact and the rest full size.
