Remember, when you demonstrate how tough your sword is, first make sure it IS tough and then pick the right way to show it.
You have to turn the sound up for this,

I always knew that stuff on HSN/QVC was crap, but never by how much. Even pakistani stuff wouldn't do that, as it is generally just too soft.

Hmmm.... what kind of sword do you think John Belushi used at the Samurai Delicatessen?

I have one on my kitchen table right now, one of my JKD students asked me to sharpen it for him. They are super cheap but it looks like our friend in the video got one with a weak point. And he has a weak brain to go along with it :D

Oh WOW is that funny!
I mean...OK, the guy got hurt a bit but...I very much doubt it penetrated more than an inch.
Nailed him low in the right ribcage, right?
Sigh. They got bit by the same cheap crapola they sell.

Yeah, and you could tell the second guy almost went straight into the same lying sales spiel, right before he switched gears and told the joke. Betcha anything the next day they were back to the same old routine.
I showed that to two of my female co-workers at school who think my knife "thing" is pretty weird. They were familiar with the Booie Knahf salesmen and that was the hardest I've seen them laugh! Great stuff.

That is funny.
I have been laughing about that for the last 10 minutes. I sent the link to two other people already.
That hurt, that hurt big-time. LOL:D

It looks like the blade came out of the handle.
Jim March

No, the blade snapped in half. The tip half came right back at him.
Bad steel, bad heat-treat, FUNNY video :D.

If you play it again, note the grind-lines on that sword as he holds it up prior to beating the countertop with it.
See that un-evenness where the grind line "dips" from the edge towards the spine?
You can actually SEE the weak spot about where it broke.

I laughed. The guy got hurt but he was still talking and he walked away from it, so I don't feel bad about it. Man, what a POS. I've had "made in Pakistan" stuff that could take more than that.

No, my bad, you can see A weak spot, but too close to the tip to be the one that blew.
But there were probably others....ahhh, no, make that "definately" :D.

If Odell had been a real pro he would have seen this as the perfect opportunity to mention the Lifetime Warranty.
