Just rolled in from Shot Show....although I didnt have much time to explore in depth due to the crush at our booth and the meetings I had arranged, I did run a bit to check things out..

Now dont get me wrong, I like new stuff...however, as one involved in both selling and making these things, I cant get real excited about variations on old themes (except our own :)), especially when the companies making new things cant even get the old things right...I mean like why make a 500 Taurus when the 454s have problems, why does Kimber make new guns before fixing QC issues...???

Anyway, here are some impressions..

Best Engraving... Sentimentally I like one of our rifles engraved with a Polar bear killing a seal in Gold, but IMHO, honours go to Korth...and then...the Browning custom shop, where I got to spend an hour helping buy some of those gems...

Rohrbaugh...we spent some time with Eric Rohrbaugh, both in his booth and ours. His pistols are awesome...even Jim West, my fearsome leader and a Club 100 pistolsmith thinks they are great...they are gonna be the rage for concealed carry (and I am even considering getting one meself)...the price is eminently fair for what you are getting and the quality is superb...

Incidently, I have three that might be showing up this week...anybody want one want at a reasonable price PM me...

CZ...extremely impressed by the increase in their rifle quality. Not so impressed with the RAMI (the feel in my hand), but hey different strokes for different folks...we are gonna do the deal for CZ group buy....RAMIs are $430 plus $20 shipping, 40s now, 9s later. Ill start a new thread on this and email all of you who have contacted me. 9mms are still a few weeks out.

Coolest new Gun not made by us...gotta go with that 4 inch smith 500...

Way Too Much hype...Rock River...so they managed to underbid everybody and sell AR 15s to the DEA...ya think that makes them any better?

Most Fun outside the show that is suitable for this page...Going out to dinner Saturday night in a fancy 4 star joint and watching two Japanese biznessman enjoy a fancy dinner with a young blonde hooker poured into a dress who clearly was way out of her leaugue in such an atmosphere...I mean she didnt even know how to hold a spoon for petes sake...

When you say Korth, is that the same Korth from Brazil that makes knives, or is there a different Korth? :)

Thanks for the report!

Korth is a German firm that makes some expensive guns.

Korth is a German firm that makes some expensive guns.

Made even more expensive by the fact Earl's Repair Service is handling their US distribution.

I'll just say "wear comfortable shoes," because you're on your feet for a solid ten hours. It was great meeting lots of High Roaders, both at the show and at dinner Friday night. Did Oleg make it? If so, I'm very sorry I missed him.

Didn't make it. Work deadlines, flu and the sheer travel distances combined to make me unable to show up. I'll go when the show is held in Atlanta, I think. Sorry I didn't get to see everyone, though.

On the plus side, some very interesting work projects are about to get published.
