I am looking for a gun belt that is flexible--by this I mean flexible in conforming to my waist. I have a gun belt and have worn it enough to discover that it is going to demand it's own shape, rather than mine. It is uncomfortable. I would love to have a gun belt that would shape itself to my shape!!

Suggestions appreciated.

Any of the web rigger's belts are great for this. Plus they are infinately adjustable. Sure they are a glorified tie down strap, but they work. I love mine and can't go back to a leather belt anymore.

I have one from Galco. Love it. No metal buckle. Therefor it won't set off the alarms at airports. It's part no. tsa-bk-lg. Got it at last years NRA convention.

I get the Amish Belts and like the very much, I carry a lot of heavy tools on them and they last for a very long time. I outgrow them :) before I wear them out.

Of course everything is a trade-off. If it will conform easily to YOU it will conform easily to the weight of the gun pulling it down, rolling it, and otherwise doing what a gun belt shouldn't.

While out of the box, I'd think the Sparks belt would be more comfortable, I'd think after a month or so of wear, a non pre-curved belt would be just about the same.

You could strap your belt on and go wear it on a hot, humid day, while you mow your lawn. It should be broken in by the time you're done.

A nylon belt will never equal a true leather gun belt such as a Beltman belt. But if carrying a lightweight gun you may not need a real gun belt.

In my experience the Wilderness 1 1/2" 5 stitch belt is borderline for packin' plastic and sags when packin' iron unless it it cinched uncomfortably tight. The 1 3/4" reinforced Wilderness is OK for plastic, and if you add a pair of Perry's Suspenders http://www.perrysuspenders.com is OK for packin' iron.

The Wilderness is not unduly expensive and comfort is a personal thing so why not try one? If you don't like it you can always sell it for half price to some other chap and not be out much.

Just got my hands on a Wilderness Systems "Frequent Flyer" 5-stitch in black. Can't say enough about it, it's simply wonderful. Looks sharp, and supports a holstered weapon to the point that I almost forget I'm wearing it. They call it the Frequent Flyer because the buckle is 2 Delrin loops, so it doesn't set off metal detectors at airports. I bought it for occasions when my 5-stitch Instructor Belt looks a bit too tactical, such as when you take your wife shopping at the mall. Besides, realistically, how often does one rappel out of a helicopter to require the steel buckle found on the Instructor Belt? :D

A plain ol' 5.11 belt works well or you could go the leather route. I recently had the rig in the picture made by a guy named Rick Garcia and it's by far the most rugged and comfortable set up I've ever had. My weight fluctuates pretty often so Rick took that into consideration when spacing the holes. He's a great guy to work with and his prices are more than reasonable.

i have a 1 1/2" 5 stitch original instructor belt from wilderness tactical and love it. carries very well and is much more comfortable than the permastiff lined 5.11 belt i had before it.

I recently bought an Amish belt and love it. Single layer, about 3/16" thick and 1-1/4 wide, no stitching, stainless buckle secured with 2 honking Chicago screws. Breaking in very nicely and exceptionally secure without being hard.

I have a Kydex reinforced Wilderness Instructor Belt and it's really comfortable. Prior to this belt I used a Comp-Tac Kydex reinforced tapered leather belt. The reinforced Instructor Belt is about 1/3 as stiff the direction you want it to bend (around you) while being plenty stiff enough vertically. It is also surprisingly resistant to twisting without even being 'tight'. My Comp-Tac belt was really comfortable after a couple week's daily use and I would not have replaced it had I not lost too much weight for it to fit. The only time I really notice this belt being more comfortable is when sitting on a hard bench or pew where the thickness of the leather belt could be felt when leaning back.

One change I did have to make with the Instructor Belt was switching from 'standard' clips to C clips on my Comp-Tac MTAC holster. The web belt is so thin that the standard clips did not reliably stay hooked over the bottom of the belt. The C clips have also made the holster slightly more comfortable as it stays exactly in place without moving at all now. It barely moved before, but now it does not move at all. :)

I have and use two belts depending on what I carry.I use a double heavy leather for metal guns and a heavy web belt for plastic.This has worked out best for me.
