Going to be moving to Boyden IA in the next month or so have done a little looking but haven't really found any ranges around there. Where's everyone like to go shoot?

i may be mistaken, but i believe rock valley has a gun club. i've never looked into it but im pretty sure they do. Sioux Center had a range that they were building just East of town at sandy hollow but i have yet to hear anymore about it. when and if it ever does get done, it will be one of those "pay per day" type ranges.
it may be a bit of a drive, but the range i have been using is about 2.5-3 miles North of Oyens on ki-64, on the West side of the road. this is a free public range, and all the range rules are clearly posted at each shooting station. there is both at 50 yard and 100 yard range.
if you are looking to do a little pistol shooting, there is a match West of LeMars held by the Western Iowa Tactical Shooters. it is conducted under IDPA rules but is not a sanctioned match. they usually have around 6 stages with some very challenging and fun designs. they are usually held on the 3rd sunday of each month; your first shoot is free, and the rest are $10. they are a great bunch of guys and gals adn they can also point you in the right direction to find any other ranges i dont know about. here is a video of me at their march shoot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxc1GU6ie-g (and yes it was windy as all heck that day). if you want any more information about the WITS shoot just let me know and i'll pm you the contact information for the guy that runs the shoot.

Don't know much about the ranges, but I love the food at Blue Mountain in Orange City, my favorite place to eat when I'm up that way for work!

Sheldon has a descent range, what is that 10 minutes from boyden?

Never heard of a range in Sheldon, but ill have to check it out would be nice and close. As for the range in Sioux Center, last I heard they voted it down. The one by Oyens sounds nice have to make a trip down there some day and of course ill have to stop in Orange City and get some good food! Thanks for the help everyone
