Picked up a neat new toy yesterday; the very first one I've ever seen in the fle... er, sheet metal.

So, who can name this tune in one photo or less? :D

Beretta AR-70. Are there any neat rifles you don't have??

Well, gosh, Art; I'm gonna do what I always do with guns: piddle with it some, shoot it a bit, clean it, look at it, shoot it some more, eventually sell it or trade it for some other toy. ;)

Ian,

Right in one!

Gee, Mike, and here I try to feign enthusiasm over every rusty old Hand Ejector in obsolete calibers that follows you home... ;)

A very rare specimen, indeed. I can't see that it's ever been dropped. ;)

Seriously, the AR-70 was a major lust-inducer back in my teen "Mack Bolan" years.

So what are you going to do about mags, Tamara?

So what are you going to do about mags, Tamara?

Well, I've got two, and I may track down a third. It doesn't really matter, though; it's not like I'm going to be parachuted into the Bolivian jungle with this rifle tomorrow. ;)

I've got buttloads of spare AR, AK and G3 mags; more than I really need. This gun is a toy. If I suddenly decide it completely supercedes all the other semi rifles in my collection, well, then I guess I'll have to go pay extortionate prices for spares. The few I've seen have been priced like imported sin.

Very nice.

Ugly, whatever it is...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This kid loves its dark beauty. :)

Why sell any gun? guns are guns, and deserve to be hoarded. not sold for shineys.

Oh, man...I haven't thought about "the big guy in black" in a while...do you recall how Don Pendleton would refer to Mack's .44 Auto-Mag as "Big Thunder"? My buddies and I were "Soldier of Fortune"-reading, gun-loving, BB-pistol-packing kids back in the early to mid-80s and we howled at those Bolan tales! I even got kicks writing my own stories like that, spinning a yarn starring Bolan as he packed every firearm known to mankind on his latest mission to rid the world of evil-doers hahaha!!!:)

Congrats, Tamara.

Here's a question for ya'..

How long on average does a "new" rifle stay in your 'collection' before it gets sold or traded away??:)

I couldn't have imagined so many ways to describe the travel of a pistol bullet: "He turned the corner just as three death-spitting 9mm wasps angrily buzzed by" etc., etc. It was great!

Oh, don't get me wrong, Tams.

I'm interested.

It's just ugly. Just about all of the "black" rifles are ugly.

Your Martini-Henry? Now THAT'S a pretty rifle.

AR 70s are one of the cooler looking examples of Euro trash assault rifles, ranking just behind the hideously priced SIG 550s..

The interesting thing about the assault weapons ban is that it seems to have demonstrated what rifles actually are useful in military terms...these two are the AK and the ARs..notice how all the others(except for the SIGS in Switz) have fallen by the wayside...

By the way the AR 70 rocks full auto...

Well, first of all, this is a shiney. ;)

Second of all, suppose I grow bored with it or decide that it doesn't fit me all that well and I see a nice man at a gun show with a Steyr AUG; I say to him "Good sir, how would you like to trade this splendiferous Beretta for your beautimous Steyr?" and he says "Yes."

Why then, shazam!, we're both happy. ;)

Ms. Tamara,
When you become bored with your newest imported plaything, please give me a shout. I am interested in almost all things BERETTA, and certainly would like a "shot" at a BERETTA black rifle.

All things BERETTA.....ummm......I gotta check and see if there is a unmarried female BERETTA in Pietro's clan......;)

Well, Will, you got an Augie Doggie? (Maybe the only preban that gets me more excited than the Beretta... )
