Machine Gun Shoot
April 21, 2012, 10:22 PM
I am excited to say that I have just acquired and customized another full auto ak-47 with an m4 style collapsible stock, quad rails, and flash suppressor for my personal collection. I am itching to take it out to a full auto machine gun shoot and test it. The weather here in Texas has been so unpredictable in the past moths, that even I have been asking myself “where can I shoot a machine gun these days...hahaha”. With signs that the weather is starting to cooperate, we should be able to get out and use some of the longer outdoor ranges to shoot some machine guns!! Has anyone got any suggestions for some unique ak testing methods, or suggestions for things that you think make a machine gun shoot awesome! I am looking to add some variety to my machine gun shoot experience to keep it as thrilling as possible (while keeping safety paramount).

If you had posted this earlier, you would have been invited out to our annual shoot up at a buddy's place near wichita falls, tx. that was this weekend.

We had rifle ranges from 100 yards up to 1025 yards, and fired everything from 22lr, .223, 30-06, 308, 338, and .50 bmg. We had a rimfire and pistol range, and also a full-auto shooting area.

Full autos included an AK-47, an M16 lower with 9mm upper, Sten, and cobray m11.

For an AK, a drum full of tracers is always a crowd pleaser. For targets, old cars work great, or anything reactive, as long as you're far enough away from the debris.

Take off that flash suppressor. ;)

Try putting a bag of flour on top of an explosive target and stand FAR away.
