First off I'll start by saying that The High Road is my go-to forum for everything firearms related...Just wanted to get a general consensus of the highest caliber firearm forums that you all frequent BESIDES THE HOLY HIGH ROAD. I'm a member of about a half dozen of so but wanted to know where you all turn to for intelligent discussion.

1911 forum is very good. I also like The Firearms Forum and AR15.com too. And of course Texas Gun Talk. Don't forget CMP Forums for US military info.

Gunsnet.net
Gunrightmedia.com
Icarry.org (more regional, primarily IL & WI)
opencarry.org

I like the "open aspect" of Gunsnet and Opencarry in that they have forums where you can discuss things that aren't directly gun-related but that DO impact the Bill of Rights and, ultimately, the RKBA.

Just a friendly reminder, we don't do "forum wars" here.

There are lots of great firearms-related forums out there and they all have their own unique characteristics. Hopefully everyone can find the right combination of community and information to make their online experience the best it can be.

I'm most often found in:
The Liberal Gun Club Forum (http://www.theliberalgunclub.com/phpBB3/index.php)

But also on Rimfire Central and a variety of Lee-Enfield specific forums since that's about all I'm into.

THR is my main go to

I been studying gun control laws for awhile. As such I check the regional gun forums as well to see what is happening in other states and Canada. Occasionally what happens in other states and areas can eventually have an effect at the National Level.

I been trying to decipher (and understand why) how laws vary from state to state as well as the variations between counties in the same state. With the recent demise of the long gun registration in Canada, I been reading the forums there and trying to understand the licensing schemes to the North.

No special order....

Edit;
I voted RFC, as in http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/index.php, because i not only shoot a lot of .22s but because I have NEVER heard a derogatory remark made. That isn't to say that there are no idiots there but i see more of them elsewhere.

Good forums often depend on your tastes in firearms. The Walther Forums and the P.38 Forum work just fine for me.

Glad this is turning into a productive thread and I really appreciate all the great input from everyone, definitely going to check out some of your favorites. As the OP maybe I'll actually list the forums I frequent as well...besides the High Road.

The Firing Line -- Defensive Carry -- USA Carry -- Shotgun World -- Pistol Forum -- Smith & Wesson (just the M&P subforum)

IMO the High Road has the highest traffic and is good but when it comes down to knowledge and professionalisum it's hard to beat the 1911 Forum.

There are several people here on THR who will appreciate that knowledge.

The only other gun related forum I'm a member of aside from The High Road is rimfirecentral.com there is a wealth of knowledge on that sight pertaining to all things rimfire, but for more general firearms info THR is my go to sight even though I've taken a couple of month long hiatus.

I'm a Moderator on a Forum, so after I check in there for a while, it's usually THR, COTEP.org, ar15.com, occasionally RFC, then back to my home Forum.

I'm fairly new at THR, and it seems to the best general interest shooting/Big Forum I've been on. Very well moderated and managed.

arfcom is getting pretty boring, and some of the behavior and language is a little unpleasant.

M1911.org

And most of all the Outdoor Sports/Recreation subforum of Pirate4x4:

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=75&order=desc

They have the best technical posts and home-builds of anywhere I've seen... gotta dig through some SHTF sort of posts, but many of the builds there are actually builds... not just bolting a bunch of crap from a website together:rolleyes:

I don't put any gun forum on a holy pedestal ( silly ), gather the knowledge that pertains to my interest. Disregard the BS that show's up everywhere, maybe at times I can contribute something useful to help someone else.
Forum's are just a gathering of people's opinion's, based on experience or the lack there-of , I do get a lot of good info from Surplus Rifle Shooter's and the S&W Collector's forum's. I do see a lot of redundancy on THR, was gone for a long time but came back to check it out. Same topics dealing with "Whats the best Firearm" in your opinion --------- the best is whatever works for you, and that you like it. Just my thought's cause the OP asked.
