55 grain FMJ-BT, over 22.5 grains H-335, chrono'd out of a 16.14 inch barrel at 2427FPS. Seems a bit slow for the caliber, doesn't it?
Edited to correct the powder number, sorry. :)

H-225? I've never heard of it. Maybe H-335 or CFE-223.

No.
Assuming you are talking about H335, and not H225?
55 grain bullet and 22.5 grains is not even a starting load according to hodgdon.
They are getting 3,018 with the 23.0 grain Starting load out of a 24" pressure test barrel.
25.3 is MAX for 3,203.
And you got less powder and 8" less barrel.

I suppose it would depend on the use of the loads. If you're just plinking or target shooting out to 200 or so yds., the load is fine. Remember: it doesn't take much to poke a hole in a piece of paper.
If you're hunting with the load, you might be limiting yourself a little.

55 grain FMJ-BT, over 22.5 grains H-335...
That's a full 2 grains under Minimum.
Where'd the load suggestion come from ?

I like to run 24.5 to 25 gr of H335 and get about 2800 fps from my mini 14 with a 16.25" barrel.

I had exactly two loads to go from the Hodgdon info I downloaded, both 55 grain loads, on a SPR SP and an SFIRE, but I wasn't sure what the heck an SFIRE was, so I split the difference in the starting load between them as the SFIRE 55 grain load starts at 21.4, and the SPR SP starts at 23.0. This was from hodgdon.com, btw.
I've been told the "industry standard" for the 55 gr FMJ-BT bullets is 24.5 grains of H-335, which I will try. Thanks for the input.
