Ejection pattern

I came back from the range yesterday having shot my new (to me, about 150 rounds through it before I got it) very expensive custom, 4" 1911. It functioned perfectly, no failures, but the brass ejected in a pattern from 2 o'clock to about 5 o'clock from 2-3 feet away from me. Most of my currently owned 1911's place the empties at about 5 o'clock, 4-5 feet away from me. I'm thinking the ejector may need a little tightening up but I'm hesitant to dive into it since it's just come from Wilson Combat's inspection with what appears to be "flying colors."

The only variable is that I was shooting my own competition reloads, both lead RN and P-RN, that are about 100 fps slower (740-750) than the recommended factory ammo for "break-in." Could less powered ammo cause this "weak" ejection pattern?

UPDATE: I said "...ejector..." and meant extractor, I said "tightening" and meant adjust extractor tension - too big of a hurry.

Yes.

Test it with full power 230 grain ball ammo.

I'm thinking the ejector may need a little tightening upThere is no tightener on the ejector.

Maybe you are thinking of extractor tension?
Regardless, it seems unlikely a gun just back from Wilson needs further extractor tuning just yet.

If it doesn't act up will full power factory loads?
It's your reloads.

If you want to shoot reduced loads, you may need a lighter recoil spring.

as long as it ejects and doesn't bounce it off your head, why worry?

rcmodel is probably right (not that he needs my support)

You could call Wilson up and ask them what they test with, or you could just go with some factory 230g FMJ loaded up to industry standards.
I would be unlikely to change anything in the extraction/ejection system of a gun that was actually extracting/ejecting reliably. Barring a minor adjustment to the tension of the extractor, after testing with whatever the gun was designed to run.

Wilson tests the gun with "hardball, hollowpoints and L-SWC" - they don't say whose but I suspect it's their own and (I guess) fairly full power. I'll try the factory hardball as they recommend and complete the "break in" with that.

I did check the extractor with the slide off and it seemed fine to me. I just thought to be an odd ejection pattern...and I agree that it seems a little unnecessary to start adjusting things since it's just been checked by the maker 200 rounds ago. I guess I just wanted some other opinions to set me straight.
