Any non Ruger made mags that are dependable for my 20 year old Mini-30?

I have been given some over the years and they are just sad failures.

The only aftermarket Mini 30 mags I've had any luck with are made by USA.I have a pair of 50 rounders that work fine. They are no longer in business I hear. You do know that Ruger is now selling 20 round mags right?

I just hate the idea of giving Ruger another nickle after what Bill did with the AWB. I swore I never would again and I will not reward a company that turned on the constitution.

I'm funny that way.

No.

Some can be made to work for a while if you tweak the feed lips, but the shape won't hold.

If you want Mini-30 mags over 10 rounds the ones made by Ruger are the only ones you can count on. The 10 round Pro-Mags have worked well for me, the 30-round Pro-Mags were total crap.

You should dump that traitor-weapon in the river.

Bill Ruger is dead and gone and his company is a completely different animal now. Time to get over whatever issues you have with them and come back to reality.

The feed lips aren't usually the problem( at least not with the USA,etc mags)but the shape of the follower. Modify the follower so that it lifts the nose of the bullet and many of the aftermarket mags will work flawlessly. I've done thi with Mini-14,Mini30 and SKS extra capacity magazines and it worked in all of them.

Ruger firearms are very well made (American made!) and are a great value for your gun buying dollar. Time to recognize that. Same goes for Smith and Wesson.

Correct. Don't forget that S&W (when under ownership by Tomkins PLC) made a similar dirty deal with the Clinton Administration to restrict the sales of certain legal firearms to law-abiding citizens. They eventually reversed that ill-concieved position, and the public quickly forgave the comany.

Despite his flawed opinion on regular vesus reduced-capacity magazines, Bill Ruger still did far more for the firearm-owning public than any one of us. The company today has certainly moved away from that position, and now it's hard to fault Ruger for producing high-quality American-made products, when so many other companies (cough, Cerberus, cough,) are content to let quality control slip. Also, I can think of no other US firearms company that is more responsive to the US civilian market. It seems like every other week Ruger is annoucing some new product.
