What is this mark on my knife

Got my brand new Buck Woodsman today, and I noticed on the handle there was a circular mark on it, that looks like oxidation? Can anyone identify what this might be, and what I should do about it.

Looks like a weld and a heat mark to me.

Yep, looks like where the pin that holds the end cap was polished down and maybe got to hot.
Contact Joe Houser at Buck and I have no doubt they will replace it if you want.

Looks like it missed the final buffer is all.
No big deal.
It will polish off with easily Flitz or Semichrome or any other metal polish.

I have to disagree. It may not polish off and stay off.
Take it back to the seller as defective and exchange it for one that does not have the problem. I would also recommend emailing Buck and letting them know that they had a Quality Control failure.
