Some configurations in some chamberings are not currently being produced. Click on the button for a full description. For example the satin finish 270 is being produced at this time, but not the polished blue. It changes from time to time. If there is demand for a spefic model then they will start producing that configuration or chambering.

No point in producing a particular gun if there is not enough demnd to make a profit.

Huh well that weird. So I cant get ,me a CDL new from remington for 25.06??? Thats odd since 25.06 is a pretty dang popular chamber and they even have the 30.06 labled as discontinued???

I dont get it? If I go to a gun store can they find a NEW cdl in 25.06????

they quit making the 788 over 20 years ago, and every chance I get, if I find one in a caliber I like, I buy it. latest is a 788 in .308 manufactured in 1986. tack driving son of a gun. anyway, dont think Remington has the quality they used to have.

They only make what people will buy, and apparantly there aren't enough people wanting that configuration in 25-06.

I can see how they might not be selling enough in 25-06, but 30-06? Really?

The CDL in 30-06 used to be one of the best selling rifles we had 3-4 years ago.

The Remington marketing department couldn't sell a bucket of water to a man whose pants were on fire.

FWIW, a buddy of mine picked up Marlin X series rifle in 25-06 and it is a tack driver. He paid less than $300 for it and I can't believe how accurate it is.
