Recently I purchased a S&W 625-6 from a pawnshop, ordered some moon clips from S&W and went shooting.

The single action trigger is very smooth and crisp breaking at about 3.5 Lbs

Accuracy off hand at 15 yards is about 1.75 inches and under an inch at 25 from a rest. One hole groups.

I used a mixture of 200grain LSWC with a light charge of green dot which gave exceptional accuracy

My standard .45 auto load of 4.3 grains of clays behind a 230 lead round nose also performed well but had about twice the percieved recoil.

The gun can shoot better than I can and is very comfortable for long shooting sessions thanks to the weight of the large frame and the hogue
rubber grips.

Hmmm, nice. Like the tapered barrel. My 625 has the full lug, which is great for the extra weight up front, but doesn't "look" as nice.;)

What velocity do you obtain with your loads and do you have any buildup problems with the un-jacketed bullets?

No buildup problems at all.

The lube in the bullets prevents leading or so I've read.

The 4.3 grains of Clays and 230 lead give about 800fps with very little fouling and accuracy that beats out all factory loads I've tried.

I have the same gun. It is a sweet shooter. I use it for IPSC. I have done very well with it, but then I felt one with the pro-spring reduced power kit from Brownells -- Wow. My spring kit is on order as we speak.
