Well, it IS a 'gun'. A cannon! Well, just a little cannon, but it IS a cannon. Small field piece in a kit. It can be shot if I want when done. We'll see. Anybody have any experience with these things?

They're loud and make a lot of smoke. And they're fun. :D

I made this one, it shoots .177 BBs and makes a little *pop* and teeny smoke cloud.

Turned it from some 3/4" brass round bar, made the carriage with a bandsaw, belt sander, and mill. Brass is kind of a PITA to turn.

Sorry for the accidental threadjack, critter!

No problem. Looks like a fun passtime. Bought mine in kit form from Dixie GW.

Did you drill and ream the barrel, or just drill it? What inner diameter? Inquiring minds want to know! :D

Just drilled while it was on the lathe with a 0.184" (I think) bit. The BB alone falls right in and rolls right out, but if I patch with a piece of paper it's a great fit.

How many pages in the phone book will it puntcure. May be good for getting rid of unwanted critters with no bb.

Reminds me I need to put mine back together. I blew the barrel off the carriage of my .58 caliber cannon yesterday. Sure was fun though.

What a great thread! I have never considered this as a project. My new winter project. Thanks for the education. Love those bb's.... too funny

Neat looking cannon. Did you "Super-Glue' those BB's together?

Nah, just stacked. The bottom layer is held in place by some putty.
