I have the CZ 550 308 varmiter/tactical. Using it for varmit shooting. Mostly prairie dogs out to 500+ yards
I just picked up a Nikon Buckmaster 3x9-40 BDC. Can't find to much info about this and was going to use it on the CZ.
Any comments or sugestions abou this combo.
Thanks

A PD is gonna look kinda small at over a quarter mile with a 9x scope. You're trying to whack something about the size of your foot. I can see across the bay on our lake (570 yards) with 10x binos and probably see a PD, but he's gonna be small. Same as using zero magnification at about 50-60 yards.

I'm sure it can be done, but I've got a 4.5x14x40 on my varmint/target .22. On my varmint rifles I've got a 4x16 on my 22-250 and 6.5x20's on my AR and .204.

The trick to the BDC's is actually going out and putting in the range time determine where the aim points on the scope are actually hitting at various distances. However, if you follow the bullet type/weight they should be pretty close. Nikons website has the chart(s).

FWIW if and when you decide to step up to more magnification, I have a 6.5-20x50 on my CZ-550 Varmint and it's a perfect fit.
