Hey guys, looking for some reloading data. Have had a hard time finding data on .308 Obermeyer. I got a AR-10 with a 26 inch 1in12 twist. Looking to fire 168 or 175 grain. If anyone has some suggestions on where to start looking or some personal recipes i would be grateful.

The way I understand it, the .308 Obermeyer is just a .308 Winchester with 5R rifling and possibly a slightly tighter chamber.

One would assume you would use .308 Win load data and work up loads just like any other .308 Win.

If all else fails, you could contact Obermeyer and ask them for load recommendations.

From the M14/Accuracy forum":
Hey leadbug I know its been awhile since the post went up I did wind up ordering a .308 obermeyer reamer on Helmuts suggestion. He explained it would be the optimal finish reamer for me because I plan on shooting the 175 gr SMK. They come on the BH ammo I have an when I burn through that I am going to start reloading with the same. This particular finish reamer has a 2.5 degree cone angle as opposed to the 308 winchester match having a 1.5 degree angle. It also is set up with a 1.630 bushing to include the thrust bushing. Its funny because the gent over at Pacific tool and gage wanted to sell me the 308 winy match set up, one because he had it in stock and did not have to make it and two because he said he has not made one i a long time that it was ol school compared to the newer 1.5 degree set up. He went on to say all the palma and bolt action guys are using the newer set up. Floundering, I call Mr 308 back and without saying anything he even said to me I bet he said all the palma and bolt action guys are using that angle. He went on to say stick with the obermeyer and don't look back. He went on to tell me that the short chamber is set up with an obermeyer, Only makes sense to me to listen t o the guy. He makes the dam barrels! I have not received mine yet from Pacific tool. I wound up ordering a full set of headspace gages as well. All 11 of them from 1.630-1.640. I will let you know when it comes in because I plan on using it lickity split. I am trying to get a rifle ready for Perry.
In other words, it's a match chamber for .308 Winchester. I'm surprised you didn't just do a Google search on '.308 Obermeyer', I got five hits on the topic.

So shouldn't the die be cut with the same reamer?
