Modern, factory shorty leverguns?

I know that, back in the day, Winchester made short-barreled rifles pre-NFA. I see them, rarely, on the NFA market these days.

My question is, is there any current manufacturer making short (say 12-14") lever guns? Handgun caliber (.44 Mag, .45LC) or .30-30 WCF would make the most sense, though a .45-70 Gov't would be a humdinger.

Anywho, just curious. Thanx. :)

They are making pistol versions of the lever action rifles, in 44/40, 44 mag, 45 LC, 357 mag and there might be a .22 also, they all have 12" barrels, you could form 1 or find a 07/SOT and have them make a SBR for you, would most likely be cheaper and safer than one of those old ones.

Not exactly factory but I think this is what you want;

I'm pretty sure he is asking if there is a short barrel lever rifle ( with shoulder stock, such as the old Winchester Trapper ) being made at the present time, the answer is No. Those , such as the Rossi Ranch hand have cut off stocks and are considered " handguns ", you can't legally put a full stock on them with out the " Paper " and tax stamp.

That's why I said do a Form 1 or contact a 07 manufacturer with a SOT and have them build one. When manufacturers have factory SBR's they are typically much higher than building your own, like many of the AR builders that add several hundred dollars because its a SBR or Auto Ordinance with their Thompson if you get their SBR it adds around 600.00 to your price.

All the lever action pistols can readily accept full lever action stocks. For probably around $250 dollars you can upgrade your lever action pistol to sbr status ($200 stamp for Form 1 + $50 stock).

Thanks for the info. Form 1ing a pistol would likely be the easiest/cheapest route.
