Blah.
Part of Me hopes they don't find a publisher...

Exileworks announces "Poacher" (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/poacher/news_6089470.html)

Yeah, I know, it's a game. There's much worse out there. But a nagging question I have is "why?". Plus, sooner or later PETA or some group of the same mindset is going to make a case out of this. Eh... to each their own I guess.

well, freedom of speech is freedom of speech, not just what you like. Even though I feel this is a vile game, it does seem to be a unique idea.

That is common knowledge.

Stuff like this perpetuates the wrong image. There are too many mis-informed individuals out there who are going to think the wrong thing about the hunting sports.
I'd like to believe otherwise, but the ones I've met and known really ARE like that. No matter how much I tried to inform them, even with hard-core evidence, they refused to believe it. Even a little bit. I have to mention, Most of these types are from big cities and have never stepped out of one.

Vile, yes. It's in pretty poor taste. Reminds Me of that awful game "manhunt", has'nt sold well I'm happy to add. More I think about it, I don't believe they are going to find a publisher. Then again...there's a market for everything.
I deem this game craptastic!

I believe the reason that "Manhunt" is not selling very well is not because of the games excessive gore content, but rather how SLOOOWWW the gameplay is. I rented the game and after playing a few levels I was bored outta my skull. "Manhunt" was put out by Rockstar games, based in Scotland, and they seem to have a hit-or-miss track record for games. Rockstar games also created the "Grand Theft Auto" series of video games and those have been HUGE sellers for them. As a game "Manhunt" was relatively gory, but really nothing I haven't seen in other games. I think the gore and violence aspect in the video gaming industry is way overblown by folks who are frantically trying to find any kind of reason why some of the idiots around them occasionally go mental and lash out. The same rationale of blaming entertainment or a product could apply to graphic comic books, violence-filled media, "Evil" rock or hip hop music or as we have seen time and time again the firearms that we on this board enjoy. There will always be weak-minded individuals out there who will be influenced by the kind of things that you or I don't even think twice about. I will give "Poacher" a try when it comes out, but just because I play it don't expect to see me sneaking up behind a giant Panda in China with my FAL anytime soon.
