NAA Mini front sight came off?

I purchased an NAA .22 mag mini with the 1 & 1/8” barrel back a couple months ago and on the first cylinder the front sight came off. I managed to find the front sight and was wondering how to re-attach it. I know I could send it back to NAA but if all they do is epoxy it in place I can do that at home without the hassle of shipping a pistol.

Does anyone have any recommendations for how to re-attach the front sight?

Thanks, Daniel

I would degrease it good, put a drop of RED Lock-Tight in the slot, and press it back in.

Once the Lock-Tight cures overnight, it won't come out again.

Dark: You have any soldering skill at all? If so your fix is quick and permanent. Get a small tube of Brownell's force 44 lo-temp silver solder, clean the sight base & the slot it's fitted to, lightly tin the sight base, fit it to the slot and apply some propane heat.....shouldn't take but a few minutes & if you are careful you'll have a permanent repair.

Tensile on the lo-temp is stated at 25M.......I just replaced an original Krag sight for a friend with that product and I can assure you it is NOT coming off!

May or may not have such good results on a stainless NAA.

Use Loctite 640.

Well I know the red Loc-Tite is probably the most easy and practical way to do this but the silver solder sounds like something I want to try. Might be handy to know how to do this someday.

Is this the stuff you are thinking about?

Will the heat of 475 degrees affect the barrel metal at all. I know the barrel must be made of high temp steel so I would think not. Would one of those little pen torches be good enough? And what is the procedure? Just heat the base with the touch and then touch the spool of wire to the area until it melt and then stick in the pre-heated front sight in and let it cool correct?

Thanks, Dan

If you've not soldered before, I would not try this.

This isn't soldering a fitting on a piece of copper pipe, and most folks don't even get that right on the first try.

Use the Lock-Tite.
