Nice find! The dragoon barrel profile looks great and so is the price. :)

Well it's your fault. I found the link to the Traditions bargain bin in one of your old threads:evil:;)

Sometimes they only have a few of their sale items which quickly get sold out.
Lucky you for checking out their specials at the right time! :)

Well I really appreciate it.:D I had been eyeballing the G&G and the Spiller and Burr as possible first brass frame/confederate revolvers.(Everything I have so far is steel frame)
I really need a Walker (to go with the 3rd Dragoon) and I would love a London Navy but finances say NO. So I have just been droolin over other folks stuff, noodlin around sites searching for good deals, etc.
Then I made the mistake of clicking on an old thread of yours (with a spit rag handy) ... you always post good stuff:evil:
I didn't even know you could buy direct from Traditions. I thought they just supplied other retailers.
I spotted a proper .36 Griswold for $209.00 the other day but chickened and ran:scrutiny:
Now I am glad I did :uhoh:
Don't tell my wife:o

Your wife is named ''Finances''? Mine's named Eva, but I get the same answer. Still, I've managed to put together a quaint little collection!

Well my darlin is not actually named Finances but I learned that lesson the hard way. :p:o
Her not being a "gun gal" is both a curse and a blessing... I can't seem to explain to her that the Lyman GPR and the Euroarms 1861 down at the local gunshop ($350.00 a piece) are good deals. Her response, " You just got a new rifle." She is aware that I own several pistols...she don't know how many I own.

I didn't notice at first that this Traditions Griswold & Gunnison was a factory 2nd.
I've bought a Traditions Deerhunter rifle that was a factory second. I think that it was very lightly used by a gun magazine writer to do a review of it for a magazine article.

And I've also looked at other factory seconds when I've visited their small factory store. Sometimes these will only have a scratch in the brass or a dent in the wood. That is if you can find any obvious reason for it to be factory 2nd at all.
But they're all sold with the full Traditions warranty coverage still in effect just as if it were a brand new gun.
Even if the gun that you receive were test fired a few times or was a sample gun, it would have still become a used gun after you fire it for the first time anyway. And the factory seconds are not always used guns either.
It's a good way to save some money. :)

Hey I don't even care about that.:scrutiny: It ain't historically correct anyway.
If it locks up properly and fires I am in.

I bought a factory second Hawken rifle from Traditions about 1 1/2 years ago. Price was under $300 including shipping. When I got it, I looked it over for an hour to find any cosmetic defects. The only one I found was a small ding in the wood on the foregrip. It has worked well and has gotten a lot of compliments from individuals (mostly non-BP shooters). I just wish I had more time to take it out. Perhaps when my boys get old enough to learn to shoot (they're 4 and 1 right now) I'll find more excuses to take it out.
