Bad chamber?

This is once fired 9mm brass from a buddy's HK P30, all the brass fired from his pistol looks like this. Looks to have a very generous chamber, but the above the visible ring, there are even more rings that dont show up good in the pics. Thoughts? The gun ran like a watch, no extraction issues.

Stepped chamber perfectly normal for that pistol.

One of my Son's XDM brass comes out looking like that too. But it doesn't eat brass or have cycling problems. His fiance has one also and the brass from that one doesn't have the anomaly?

I have picked brass like that up at the range, and it reloads fine. I asked about it at the time as well.
