Got a Monson 15-2 a while back, and I've been having some issues with it. Started out, after an hour or so at the range it'd get to where it was really hard to cock the hammer unless I manually "helped" the cylinder come around. Eventually the whole thing bound up. Took the barrel off and checked clearances, and it seems that there's about .008" end play on the cylinder when it's locked up. After totally tearing it down, there's chatter marks on the front face of the cylinder where it contacts the crane, as though someone had previously shortened it.

To my untrained eye, it seems that I should probably put a .007" shim in there. Is there a source for such a thing, or should I just make one myself from a feeler gauge? Or am I totally barking up the wrong tree here?
