I have a Swedish Mauser with screw threads at the business end of the barrel. Was wondering what this is used for and also would like to know what this Rifle might be worth. It is in good to great shape and it was produced in the late 1800's. numbers all match and have a Bayonet with scabbard with it.

Blank firing adapter. I think they used wooden bullets, and needed something to split them up.
$400 to $450 would be my guess. Check gunbroker. Search completed auctions that were bid on (need to log in for that).
