Hey all I recently purchased a Ruger speed six that I intend to carry and have as a project gun. It had seen better data and I was looking for a good company that I could never cerakote the gun in a deep blue finish and also looking for a new set if grips that aren't like the old beat up ones on Ebay. I would also like some ideas in how to replace the front sight with something easier to see our a way to highlight it that doesn't include fingernail polish.

Go with Pachmyer "Gripper" Grips. I used flat enamel white to paint my sight. First I used grey primer. Works great. Best ccw gun going in a revolver.

Congratulations on the new handgun they are fine weapons.

CDNN sports has some cheap grips for the Speed Six.

I recently had my Security Six reblued, but I chose the bead blast finish. I'm not sure where to go for a polished bluing.

Ummm huh? unless I'm mistaken, bead blasting is when a media is blasted against the surface of the metal to evenly wear off the surface, where as cerakote is applying a coating onto the surface of the metal.

I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge, cerakote and bead blasting are not at all the same thing.

If you can find 'em... Get Eagle Secret Service Grips.

Like mine.

And then disassemble the gun fully and use very fine steel wool and stainless steel polish to make that Speed Six shiny!

Sorry Ben I just read my post amd I meant not similar. And my speed six is blued so I was hoping to keep it a similar color to the original bluing. And Smith where could I find a set maybe Ebay or an actual online seller?

Here are some pictures the day I got it back. A little dirt and oil on the closeups

I had it done locally. I dropped the gun off and picked it up a week later. The whole works cost me $125.

Well whoever did that rebluing for you did a fantastic job. Looks great, along with those target style grips.

Frontier Gun Shop here in Helena MT, and yes he did do a great job. It looks in even better live. Indoors it looks more black, and outside you can see the blue tint.

For grips, it's very much up to the shooter which one is best. I can't stand the ones with a seam in front. I much prefer the factory grips with a T-Grip extender for Sixes.

I've used paint on the front sight before but it always comes off. What I prefer to do these days is take some soft brass rod and rub it against the sight's rough surface. This gives the sight a sheen of brass.
