Anyone from Washington going to Perry

I've decided I'm going to go and have a camp Perry experience. I'm going to shoot in the NRA week of highpower and I'm trying to find my options on getting on a team for the team events. While I just started shooting highpower late last summer I am not a new shooter. I shot two matches last year and two so far this year and just received my first classification card a few weeks ago.
Is there anyone from Washington going that has room for one more or know of anyone who may be going that may know some information.

Nothing? Nobody going for NRA week?
Would it help if I posted my two match scores from this year. They are both at reduced range and targets with one fired at 100 yds and the other fired at 200 yds. Both scores were identical at 496/500. Does that help generate any more interest?

I'm not going. No where near enough experience with long range shooting to feel comfortable competing there. Maybe some day, if I ever put down the pistol, shotgun, and carbine long enough to spend some time with the 30-06 or FAL (I'm assuming one of those would be suitable for such a competition.)
Good luck though!

Have you talked to anyone from the highpower shooters in the state as to who runs and sets up arrangments for perry from the state?
Most all states have someone who puts in for rooms and helps set up teams. But you can always get your own team from others.
I could be wrong but I think the team match for nra week is the rumbold and you either shoot for the rumbold trophy which is a team from your state or another trophy for not state teams so anyway you are good to go when you find enough folks to shoot.
Now most folks who go have all ready heard the news of the mods being condeemed for mold. That has really thrown a cog in the works for the handicap and volunteers who had first rights to mods on base and has forced many not to go.
It has caused rooms off base that are reasonible to get snapped up quickly.
Also this was announced after everone put in for the rooms for their state and was told afterwards they were not going to get what they thought they were.

I'll second that and tell you to see who you know around you has plans to go. Ask around at those matches you shoot in, or the state highpower organizations.
I'll be there for the CMP rifle week.

The people that shoot the monthly matches at my home range are not going and I haven't found anyone else going yet either. Our state championship is coming up the first week of June, I am planning to ask around then. Maybe I can get lucky and find a team from Oregon that may have a spot if nobody here is going. Neighboring states can have one outside person per team so I have that option if I can find it. I didn't think it would be this difficult to drum up a team.

Never shot the nra team match myself. Not that I have anything against it I used to take that day off between the cmp and nra week and went out to one of the islands to unwind and recharge my energy. always liked kelly island better than put-in-bay anyway.
Have fun.
