4v50 Gary May 9, 2012, 12:36 PM Yes. a98kdoc May 9, 2012, 01:48 PM All fixed cartige gun's must go though an FFL and wate 10 days for any trasnsfure even in famleys. Muzel loders I think you can but if you to a website that sells muzel loaders thay will tell you. Doc Busyhands94 May 9, 2012, 01:56 PM You can't have anything that fires fixed ammo shipped to you as far as I know, but you can have blackpowder firearms shipped to you without the FFL stuff. I mean I've had tons of BP guns shipped to me without problems! Jefferson Herb May 10, 2012, 01:38 AM I believe if said firearm was made BEFORE 1898,then by Fed law it is considered a nongun/antique and not regulated.Even a non-citizen can buy a .45 colt if made prior to 1898. I hav'nt seen anything to change this over the yrs. 4v50 Gary May 11, 2012, 06:46 AM Sorry. I was thinking muzzle loaders. Federal law permits. California doesn't but wouldn't know what the mail carried. andrewstorm May 11, 2012, 10:13 AM Ive seen ads on gun broker that pre 1899 firearms can be shipped to or from calif, whithout ffl,no matter the ignition,or cartridge.some say different, maybe county laws,or is there state preempion of gun laws? arcticap May 11, 2012, 11:35 AM Jefferson Herb appears to be correct. True antiques (rifles & pistols manufactured before January 1st, 1899) are exempt because they are not considered firearms (not even in California). https://www.empirearms.com/cal-ffl.htm For further reference see post #2: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=372142 And Post #5: http://www.thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=2300196&postcount=5 BHP FAN May 12, 2012, 03:14 PM Jefferson Herb is correct.
